Polishing / Surface Finishing
A refined, high-gloss surface supports sealing performance, reduces friction, and gives a plated or ground component its finished quality. Powernox provides high-gloss polishing up to approximately 3 m in length.
What It Does
A finish that a sealing surface can trust.
Polishing refines a surface to a fine, high-gloss finish, reducing roughness left behind by earlier machining, grinding, or plating steps. On components where a seal runs directly against the surface — hydraulic rams and cylinders are the clearest example — a rougher finish can wear seals prematurely and lead to leakage.
Polishing is commonly used as a finishing step after hard chrome plating, and on its own where a component simply needs a refined surface. Suitability depends on the component and required finish, confirmed per job.
Maximum Length (High-Gloss)
Fine finishing is provided for relevant sealing and precision surfaces — larger components or specific finish requirements should be discussed directly.
Where It's Used
Surfaces where finish is the function.
Hydraulic Seals
A smooth, high-gloss surface on rams and cylinders helps protect seals from premature wear.
Hydraulic Rams · Hydraulic Cylinders
Post-Plating Finish
Polishing after hard chrome plating brings the plated surface to its final specified finish.
Plated Shafts · Precision Tooling
Wear & Reciprocating Surfaces
Reduced surface roughness lowers friction and drag on moving or reciprocating components.
Fork Tubes · Gear Shafts
General Finishing
A refined final surface where appearance and feel are part of the component's specification.
